Pixies , Originally uploaded by Rodrigo F. - . If I say Frank Black, Kim Deal, Joey Santiago and David Lovering could face some rare and I do not understand much. But if you love music and know something, if I say Pixies probably already know what I mean.
When rumors emerged that the legendary rock group could play in Montevideo many were skeptical. However, when it was confirmed that several also came and we knew there'd be. I'm not a fan of this group, but knew I had to go. If I've heard them on the issues of adolescence, great songs and they will remain forever in memory. To think that this band was formed more or less the year I was born, '86, and now it's crazy to see them, I would say historic. And so it was.
Under the Pilsen Rock 2010 Prent this past October 7 at the Teatro de Verano de Montevideo. In late afternoon with my brother arrived there and wait.

Nothing more and nothing less than Goodfellas , providing a show at the height of the event and making a strong presence on stage, most of all with its sound.
A band that sounded good and well to his style in his 45-minute show: dirty, loud and harsh (no need to clarify that the latter adjective Dalton's voice, no?). They had some guests such as guitarist Dante's Inferno (I forget the name) and drummer Pol Jetsons providing his own percussion with just a plate and a plate (yes, literally a sheet). 22 o'clock in Montevideo and the Summer Theater overflowing, suddenly enters the band and the bassist, Kim Deal, the first words issued by the band that night: "This is our first toqui in Urruguay." Sentence will never forget.
After that, starts with "Bone Machine" and already, how many? 5mil? 6mil?, People who were in the theater and were turned over to enjoy this band I guess I never see anyone here and least as many years after their songs hits. Well no, actually did not know whether to say hits, but all I sound so classic for me are all hits. And indeed at first that fell was seeing. When I really noticed was when it started to sound the sixth song "Debaser" is the first memory I have of them, the subject that I met.
Kim was always with a smile that interacted more with the public. Frank Black was devoted to play and sing. On some issues, and also screaming say how she screams! my brother was amazed that, issues that are proving cathartic such as "Tame." Santiago and Lovering they played for more than that in parts was no interaction with the public. The range of issues posed to the entire theater for a variety of feelings we all learned to enjoy, from the direct and strong (Tame, Come, Broken Face ..) to the most melodic (Here comes your man, monkey gone to heaven ..)
When we wanted to agree they got, and I did more than an hour they were playing. We started laughing when we saw that some people would. Ha, some people do not understand or do not know anything about concerts? the lights were off, did not put music ... meant that they would return. And again! turn your head to see how people would end up running for re desperate, ha! which ha-ha ha-ha last best Nelson said. And way back, to me the highest point of the night, so went with a "Where Is My Mind?".

The Pixies in Montevideo on a week night playing a list of 28 issues in an hour and a half? Nobody could have imagined what was yet true, very true.
